What is Crème Brûlée
Creme Brulee is a dessert made from custard that is cooked in a sugar syrup until thickened. The dish is usually topped with a bruleed sugar crust.
Basically, it is a sweet, pudding-like custard, covered with a crispy sugar crust. The custard base of the creme brulee is made with heavy cream, eggs, sugar and vanilla. But for this recipe, you can use classic custard powder to make the custard.
Plain vanilla is one of the most traditional creme brulee flavors. You can dress it up with toppings such as caramel or fruit, but it's just as good without those additions.
